I recently read an article on the This Old House website explaining that if you are in need of extra storage or seating, consider building a window seat. They can be made extra comfortable by adding a cushioned top. If they are placed in a window area, it is a great place to view the outdoors. A window seat should be at least 16 to 20 inches deep, 30 inches long, and about 18 inches high for comfort. You can build a 3 foot long DIY window seat for $100-$300. If you use stock cabintry, the cost will be on the higher end. Dreamland Interiors would be glad to assist in planning and constructing a custom window seat for your home. Window seats can be placed about anywhere in the home including the entryway, bedroom, den, living room, kitchen, bathroom, etc. If you place one in a kitchen or bathroom, you would be wise to use outdoor fabrics for the cushions. #dreamlandinteriors #ThisOldHouse #cabintry #storageareas
