When shopping with a client, she was surprised to find the many sources of antique and modern glass/crystal door knobs that were available. Some knobs even come with decorative keyhole plates. This ornamental accent can make a dramatic statement. Glass drawer pulls have been popular for some time. These glass knobs and drawer pulls come in a wide variety of colors. Some sources for these baubles are Lowe's, Amazon, ebay, Pottery Barn, Nostalgic Warehouse, and the store with the biggest selection is House of Antique Hardware. I also like the idea of using a glass door knob as a curtain tieback. Check out these two pinterest sites for ideas.

Two of my favorite companies for choosing hardware for cabinetry are Richelieu and Hardware Resources. Richelieu has developed a new product that is RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) and BHMA (Builders Hardware Manufacturers Association) certified. Pulls free of lead and mercury sounds like a good thing. The pulls come in six finishes and various dimensions. I like Richelieu's products because they are durable and strong. When choosing hardware, be sure to measure carefully and consider the spacing necessary to be comfortable when inserting your hand to pull the cabinet or door open. You would be surprised to learn that most people don't consider size, finish, practicality in shopping for hardware for their bathroom or kitchen. They buy what appeals to their taste. You of course want to match your plumbing fixtures and light fixtures to the finish on your hardware. It can get complicated. We are here to help. #dreamlandinteriors Hardware Resources has launched the new contemporary Jeffrey Alexander Collection. The hardware is sleek with gently curved feet to create a unique look. The new Leyton line allows you to mix and match finishes--polished chrome, polished nickel, satin nickel, brushed pewter, and brushed oil-rubbed bronze. The pulls come in five lengths ranging from 96 mm to 224 mm. #richelieu #hardwareresources
