I just read about an 18 month experiment conducted in Hilo, Hawaii by JELD-WEN windows. Did you know that the #1 pest in Hawaii is the termite? JELD-WEN chose Hawaii because of the termites and moisture. They have developed a new treatment for their windows called AuraLast. JW constructed two structures on a termite colony--one structure of the AuraLast Wood Windows and one with regular wood windows. At the end of the 18 months, there was no rotting, water swelling, or termite damage with the AuraLast windows. They just needed wiped down and repainted. The regular wood windows were reduced to spongy wood scraps. JELD-WEN's new window manufacturing process does not involve dipping the wood into a vat of harmful chemicals, as is typically done. Wood in the AuraLast process undergoes a surface-to-core treatment through a proprietary vacuum/pressure process. This environmentally-safe, water-based application fortifies wood to the core. JW manufactures doors as well as windows. Visit their website to see the many styles to choose from. #dreamlandinteriors #jeldwen #windows #interiordesign #interiordesigner #decor#homedecor #interiorstyling #homestyling #interiors #designblog #homestyle#homesweethome #redesign #remodel #interiordecor #homedesign #decorate#furniture #kitchen #livingroom #bedroom #bathroom #diy #construction #decorator #homedecor #creative #home
