Both the Real Simple and the Better Home & Garden Magazines have chosen the Troutman rocking chair as their favorite. These chairs are made in America and designed to provide lumbar support. The rockers come in four styles, various colors, different sizes, etc. Every porch needs at least two of these.

In 2018, furniture with curves and saturated colors will be shown in stores. "The tide is slowly starting to turn from rectangular sharp lines to an influx of softer edges and fabric and walls and furniture with a punch of pigment—hues like ochre, deep green, and burnt rose tones are popping up everywhere," Athena Calderone says. Items that are shapely or circular, swiveling chairs, round cushions, sloped mirrors, and arches, in general, are also appearing in both décor as well as architecture, like an opening to a room or an arched wall niche. The look is glamorous and soft. No doubt about it—we're embracing the curves." Source: Interior designer, foodie, and author Athena Calderone of EyeSwoon.

Here is a tuxedo sofa which characteristically has the arms and back at the same height. Put there is also the Chesterfield, the sectional, the Lawson, the Mid-Century Modern, the Contemporary Mid-Century Modern, the English style, the Bridgewater, the Camel Back, the Cabriole, the Chaise Lounge, the Sleeper Sofa, the Day Bed, the Bunk Bed, the Loveseat, the Divan, and the Settee. Some of these types we are more familiar with than others. Check out the Home Stratosphere Website to see examples of each style with a brief explanation of their features.
I would recommend the following manufacturers based on the quality of their furniture: Thomasville, Lexington, Bernhardt, Century, Bassett, Drexel, Hooker, La-Z-Boy, Broyhill, Stressless, and Ethan Allen.

I discovered a website by Megan Duesterhaus that I found interesting titled The Homes I Have Made. Megan found furniture at various thrift stores and turned them into some remarkable pieces. She advises that once you find that solid, interesting piece either paint it, cover it, or repurpose it. Check out some of her creations.

Of course, the size of your room, the shape and size of your furniture, the accessories, the woodwork, the light fixtures, etc. will all play a part in your selection of your coffee table. Pieces come in a wide range of prices. The table decorated above is from All Modern Furniture. Here are some pictured below that I like.
When you accessorize the coffee table, there are some tips to keep in mind. To keep it simple, add a tray, a vase with an arrangement (keep it low), and a decorative item. Each item should vary in height and size. Balance is what you are trying to achieve. Keep the items interesting, meaningful, and pieces taken from nature. Common items used to decorate a coffee table are seasonal items like a holiday figurine, books and magazines, a glass bottle, a candle that adds height and scent. If you want your coffee table tray to be more practical, add a decorate dish to hold the tv remote or your glasses or a pen.
I like coffee tables that can serve as an ottoman as well or one that has storage.
