INTERIOR DESIGNERS ARE MOSTLY FEMALE. Obviously in 2017, the design profession is open to both sexes.
DESIGNERS JUST WORK WITH PAINT AND FABRIC SWATCHES. Designers study and are rigorously tested annually on space planning, safety regulations, building codes, and inspection regulations. They design not only for beauty and functionality, but for your safety and to assure you that your home or business is being built according to the current codes. INTERIOR DESIGNERS ARE TOO EXPENSIVE. People assume only the rich use interior designers. Designers offer help on any size project. Since they work with suppliers, they can offer you great discounts. Every home big or small is worthy of a good design. The right design can make you proud of your home and can be surprisingly affordable. DESIGNERS ARE DIFFICULT TO WORK WITH. This may be depicted on television for good tv viewing, but in real life a designer has been trained to understand his/her client and deliver on what the client wants. Of course, the client must be clear and concise about his/her wants, needs, and budget. After a careful interview, YOUR space, that you feel comfortable in, will be planned out for your approval. DESIGNERS ARE ALL KNOWING. Once again, the results will please you, if you as the client clearly articulate your personal ideas and needs. Designers may ask for pictures of your dream space. Also the client would be wise to ask to see pictures of past projects that the designer has worked on. I DON'T NEED A DESIGNER. People over estimate their ability to blend form, function, and color together for a pleasing effect. Designers can take you to showrooms that you do not have access to. Designers have earned a 4 year college degree and passed a licensing test to work in the field. They must update their license regularly by continuing their education. Designers are great at working not only with clients, but with contractors, laborers, and the trades. They can save you from a lot of headaches. Start small and I think you will be surprised. #dreamlandinteriors #interiordesign #interiordesignmisconceptions
